Rheumatology Nursing Officially Recognized as a Nursing Specialty

On November 9th, 2012 the American Nurses Association Board of Directors announced its recognition of rheumatology nursing as a nursing specialty, approval of the rheumatology nursing scope of practice statement, and acknowledgement of the standards of practice for rheumatology Registered Nurses (RNs) and Advance Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) in rheumatology. Dr. Shaver Selected as Medical Honoree for Jingle Bell Run

Dr. Shaver has been selected as Medical Honoree for the Jingle Bell Run this year. This event is the Arthritis Foundation's largest fundraiser of the year. Along with Dr. Shaver, one of his patients, 17 year old Allison Eaton, has been selected as Youth Honoree.
