Indications:
Prevention and treatment of
osteoporosis
Side
effects: Dryness and irritation of the nasal passages is
the most common side effect. Flushing of the hands and face
and nausea are less common side effects.
Monitoring:
Bone densitometry study every 1-2 years is recommended
Important
points to know: Alternate nostrils every other day when
using the nasal spray and use the left hand to spray in the
right nostril and the right hand to spray in the left nostril
to minimize irritation.
