Dr. Nancy Young Olson joined ARCK in November, 2010, after over 25 years of service at the University of Kansas Medical Center. At ARCK, Dr. Olson will continue to provide university level care but in a private setting. Dr. Olson provides asthma, allergy, and immunology services to patients of all ages and pediatric arthritis and rheumatology to children from birth through college. Dr. Olson is one of a few physicians in the country boarded in Asthma, Allergy, Immunology and in Pediatric Rheumatology. Similarly, she is one of only a few in the country offering Pediatric Rheumatology in a private setting.
Dr. Olson has achieved Fellow status in the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology, American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology, and the American College of Rheumatology. She has served on the Executive Council of the Kasas Chapter AAP, and as President of the Greater Kansas City Allergy Society. Dr. Olson's research activities have also included serving as a member and research physician in the Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group (PRCSG), and as a member and research physician of the Childhood Arthritis & Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA).
Dr. Olson was High School Valedictorian, was a Curators Scholar and Ewing Kauffman Scholar at the University of Missouri, and earned BA/MD degrees with honors. Dr. Olson has served as Committee Chairman for national professional organizations, has served as reviewer for medical journals, has served on the advisory boards of medical foundations. Dr. Olson was honored as Hero of the Year for the Arthritis Foundation of Western Missouri and Greater Kansas City in 2003 and has been listed in the Guides to America's Top Physicians, Top Pediatricians, and Top International Physicians. She has been nominated as one of "Kansas City's Super Doctors" for several years.
Dr. Olson has passionate interest in improving care in asthma, allergy, juvenile arthritis, and rheumatic diseases. A team approach is utilized with the patient's physician/healthcare provider, the patient and family. |
